The opening of this Ramen outlet led to huge frenzy and super long queues daily. Walked past this place after a couple of months and decided to try since there is now no more queues :P
Sat at the counter:
Aka Ramen: Spicy chicken & mixed nuts soup ramen ($15) with an egg ($1)
I was underwhelmed by the ramen noodles - not the Q Q type.
This is floury type which i dislike. Egg is quite nicely done- wobbly egg whites and yolk within :)
Pleasantly surprised with the lemon provided; deep fried garlic slices are provided at every table....yum!
Bf ordered Marutama Ramen ($12) with Kakuni ($5 Stewed Pork Belly)
The chunks of meat floating in the bowl are the pork bellies - very good with creamy fats!
Lucky he added them, otherwise there is just one piece of miserable Cha Siu.
This is the menu.
At about $17 & $18 for a bowl of decent ramen, i can get it better elsewhere.
Hokaido promotional ramen at TamPoPo was superb (seasonal); while my ex Jap boss always rave about the Shio Ramen @ Miharu, Gallery Hotel. Tried there several times, QQ noodles, but soup too oily for my liking.
