Went to thai village for their sharksfin for dad's bday...since he likes thai-style sharksfin.
This is a per person portion. I think it's $60? Anyway i try not to eat sharksfin, so i didn't want a portion but took a bit from my neighbor's. I thought it was just so-so, and not worthy of the abundant accolades awarded to them.
Salt-baked chicken. It's not value for money for this scrawny portion - and full of bones!
crab vermicilli - the crab is juicy and succulent. the vermicilli has absorbed the goodness and sweetness of the crab. but a bit dry and oil-less.
Breaded tofu? I think this is what it is. Erm, tastes very ordinary.
Basil grilled prawns - yum! i like this the most! it's tasty and flavorful!
crab fried rice - this is atypical of what you can get @ bangkok, but this is less fragrant and less oily. it's perfect for the health conscious. and my mum loves it. for me, it lacked the wok hei - and the resulting aroma.
i wanted to order mango pudding but 'no stock' so i ended up with - longan sea coconut.
okay lor. canned food.
